The soil warmed up earlier than usual this year, so the first beds went in during the last week of March: radishes, spinach and a double row of peas along the south fence. Tomatoes stay indoors for another month.
A steel frame from the seventies, a cracked saddle and a rear wheel that no longer runs true. The wheel was the easy part; the freewheel needed a proper puller and a lot of patience.
Soak overnight, simmer with a bay leaf and a carrot, add salt only at the end. Better on the second day.
